I think that, like many restaurants at wineries, the ambience plays a big role in the experience. The Yarra Valley is one of Australia's prime wine growing regions. The wines are delightful (de Bortoli has been making wine in Australia since 1928 - perhaps not long by French standards, but quite a while in Australia!) and the food and service do the wine justice. Add to that the views over the vineyards of the Yarra valley and you have a memorable lunch (dinner only on Saturdays) experience. If you are visiting Australia, and visiting Melbourne, then a trip (about one hour's drive) to the Yarra valley is a good way to spend a day, and this restaurant is a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon.
